7-Eleven brings viral Japanese-style egg salad sandwich to U.S. stores

The new sandwich mirrors the cult-favorite “tamago sando” sold in 7-Eleven stores across Japan.

IRVING, Texas — 7-Eleven is bringing one of its most beloved international items stateside with the launch of the Japanese-Style Egg Salad Sandwich, now available nationwide at participating 7-Eleven, Speedway and Stripes stores.

The new sandwich mirrors the cult-favorite “tamago sando” sold in 7-Eleven stores across Japan, featuring soft milk bread and a rich, ultra-creamy egg salad made with KEWPIE Mayonnaise, the egg-yolk-only mayo known for its deep umami flavor.

“The egg salad sandwich has long been a favorite item in 7-Eleven stores across Japan, and we’re excited to introduce a version for customers in the U.S. inspired by its beloved flavor,” said Brandon Brown, senior vice president of fresh foods at 7-Eleven. “Fans across the country can now enjoy the new Japanese-Style Egg Salad Sandwich and experience a take on one of our most popular international offerings that has captured hearts and appetites around the world.”

A longtime staple in Japanese convenience stores, the tamago sando has achieved viral status thanks to its cloud-soft texture and signature KEWPIE flavor. Now U.S. customers can try it for themselves, pairing the new sandwich with a Big Gulp or Slurpee for a classic 7-Eleven combo.

The Japanese-Style Egg Salad Sandwich is available for a limited time at participating stores nationwide.
