IRVING, Texas — 7-Eleven is celebrating the 60th anniversary of its iconic Slurpee with a series of promotions, a new limited-time flavor, and free frozen beverages for customers on Slurpee Day, July 11.
On Saturday, July 11 (7/11), participating 7-Eleven®, Speedway®, and Stripes® stores nationwide will offer customers a free small Slurpee featuring the brand's new anniversary flavor.* The annual giveaway celebrates six decades of one of convenience retail's most recognizable beverages.
As part of the anniversary celebration, 7-Eleven is introducing its first-ever "Slurpee Date," positioning the frozen drink as a fun, low-pressure date idea. On Slurpee Day, select 7-Eleven and Speedway stores will host special Slurpee Date experiences featuring themed photo opportunities, commemorative keepsakes and limited-edition bedazzled Slurpee “S” double straws inspired by the brand’s diamond anniversary.**
The company has also partnered with reality television personality and content creator JaNa Craig to promote the Slurpee Date experience and encourage consumers to adopt a more lighthearted approach to date night.
To commemorate the milestone, 7-Eleven is introducing the Mountain Dew® Confetti Chill Slurpee drink, a limited-time flavor inspired by birthday cake with a citrus twist. The frozen beverage combines bright citrus notes with sweet vanilla icing for a lemon cake-inspired taste.**** Customers can also customize the drink with pink, green and blue crystals for added color.*****
According to the company, more than 300 Slurpee flavors have been introduced over the brand’s 60-year history.***
Ahead of Slurpee Day, customers can also receive a free large Slurpee drink on July 10 with any minimum $20 purchase made through the 7NOW® Delivery app.******
The anniversary campaign extends the celebration beyond the annual free drink giveaway with experiential activations, limited-edition merchandise and new flavor innovation as 7-Eleven commemorates one of convenience retail’s most enduring proprietary brands.
