Abbe Luersman is a global people leader driven by the belief that organizations succeed when they “win as one.” As executive vice president and chief people officer at Walgreens, a role she assumed in October 2025, she focuses on cultivating talent, enhancing organizational capabilities, and building a workforce prepared to innovate in service of customers, patients and team members.
“I strongly believe that when we leverage our collective strengths and ensure all voices are heard and valued, we will truly have a workforce that is reflective of the markets where we live, work and serve,” Luersman says.
Luersman brings extensive experience leading globally distributed workforces and designing digitally enabled employee and customer experiences. She previously served as chief human resources officer at Otis from 2021 to September 2025. Before that, she was CHRO of Ahold Delhaize following the 2016 merger of Royal Ahold and Delhaize, having joined Royal Ahold in 2013. Earlier in her career, she spent six years at Unilever in senior HR leadership roles across Europe and in global transformation, and 16 years at Whirlpool Corp.
