ZAANDAM, the Netherlands — Ahold Delhaize today announced the nomination of Wiebe Draijer for appointment to its Supervisory Board, with plans for him to succeed Peter Agnefjäll as Chair later this year. The nomination will be submitted for shareholder approval at an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) scheduled for August 8, 2025.
If appointed, Draijer will join the Supervisory Board immediately following the EGM and take over as Chair effective October 1, 2025, following Agnefjäll’s planned departure.
Peter Agnefjäll, who joined the board in 2019 and has served as Chair since January 2021, reflected on his tenure: “It has been an honor to serve as Chair of Ahold Delhaize's Supervisory Board. In my role overseeing and advising the Management Board, I have supported the development of the new Growing Together strategy. I believe it is the right time to pass the baton to a new leader who can continue to guide and support the Management Board in executing this strategy. I am confident that we have found an excellent successor, and the company is well positioned to move into the next phase of its strategic journey.”
Draijer brings extensive executive experience to the role, having served as CEO and Chair of Rabobank from 2014 to 2022. “I am excited to join Ahold Delhaize and take on the responsibilities of Chair of the Supervisory Board. I look forward to working with the Supervisory Board and Frans Muller and his leadership team to assist them in further strengthening our position in the market and driving the Growing Together strategy.”
