ZAANDAM, Netherlands – Ahold Delhaize has nominated technology executive Edmond Mesrobian for appointment to its Supervisory Board, a move that would bring deep expertise in digital and retail technology as the company continues to advance its omnichannel strategy.
The retailer said the appointment will be presented to shareholders for approval at an Extraordinary General Meeting, the date of which will be announced later.
Mesrobian most recently served as Nordstrom's chief technology and information officer. He previously served as chief technology officer at Tesco and Expedia Group, overseeing enterprise technology, digital platforms, and innovation. Earlier in his career, he was chief technology officer at RealNetworks and held leadership roles at The Walt Disney Company, where he helped develop distributed systems that support machine learning and artificial intelligence.
He currently serves as a non-executive director at Entain and Criteo and previously served on the board of Apigee.
“We are pleased to propose Edmond for appointment to the Supervisory Board,” said Wiebe Draijer, chair of the Ahold Delhaize Supervisory Board. “Edmond brings extensive experience in technology and digital transformation, particularly in U.S. retail environments. His expertise will be a valuable addition to the Supervisory Board as we continue to strengthen our omnichannel capabilities and support the company’s Growing Together strategy.”
Ahold Delhaize said that additional details regarding the proposed appointment will be included in the agenda and explanatory notes for the upcoming Extraordinary General Meeting.
