CARLISLE, Pa. — Ahold USA has hired Tom Lenkevich as president of its Giant/Martin’s division, which operates nearly 200 supermarkets under the Giant Food Stores and Martin’s Food Markets banners in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia.
Ahold USA has hired Tom Lenkevich as president of its Giant/Martin’s division, which operates nearly 200 supermarkets under the Giant Food Stores and Martin’s Food Markets banners in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia.
Lenkevich joined Ahold on March 4 from Save-A-Lot, where he was chief operating officer and senior vice president of retail experience. Earlier, he worked for grocery retailers Meijer Inc. and A&P.
Lenkevich began his grocery career working his way through college as a clerk at Pantry Pride in central Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of Penn State University.
"Tom’s decades of grocery experience combined with his central Pennsylvania roots make him a great addition to the Giant/Martin’s division and the Ahold USA leadership team," says James McCann, chief operating officer at Ahold USA.
Ahold USA, the U.S. arm of Netherlands-based Royal Ahold, oversees about 775 supermarkets in 14 states and the District of Columbia.
