DULUTH, Ga. — Ahold USA is slated to roll out new software from NCR Corp. that will enable the food retailer to sharpen management of customer offers and promotions.
Ahold USA is slated to roll out new software from NCR Corp. that will enable the food retailer to sharpen management of customer offers and promotions.
Plans call for the U.S. division of Dutch supermarket giant Ahold to implement the NCR Advanced Marketing Solution to all of its retail chains, which encompass more than 750 food and drug stores under the Stop & Shop, Giant (Landover, Md.), Giant Food Stores (Carlisle, Pa.) and Martin’s banners.
NCR said Monday that it also will provide consulting services to help Ahold USA manage the technology migration, as well as ongoing software maintenance and support.
"The NCR Advanced Marketing Solution has been installed in the Giant-Carlisle stores since 2009, which gave us the confidence to select it as our next-generation promotional marketing engine for availability to all of our local retail divisions," Erik Keptner, senior vice president of marketing and consumer insight at Ahold USA, said in a statement. "The capability to offer customers more targeted promotions will provide greater value to shoppers and enhance our ability to build enduring relationships with customers."
According to NCR, the Ahold USA chains will use the software to manage their loyalty and promotion programs and deploy personalized marketing promotions, integrating the software into point-of-sale technology. The solution is expected to help the supermarket chains to bring new promotions to market more quickly and be more nimble in responding to customers’ changing needs.
"NCR is pleased to build on our partnership with Ahold USA, providing solutions and services that enhance marketing effectiveness and improve the shopping experience for customers," commented Adam Blake, general manager of converged marketing solutions at NCR.
