Albertsons aims to link grocery savings with travel bookings

In partnership with Expedia Group, for U Travel brings value and ease beyond grocery rewards to every destination.

BOISE, Idaho – Albertsons Cos. has launched for U Travel, a new travel booking experience that rewards customers with meaningful cashback on both air and non-air travel. Powered by Expedia, for U Travel allows customers to plan their next getaway directly through the Albertsons Cos. banner for the U app or website, turning everyday loyalty into unforgettable journeys.

Available now, for U Travel powered by Expedia is a new, easy-to-navigate feature within the Albertsons Cos.’ free for U loyalty program accessible via mobile app and website, providing customers with a seamless travel booking experience that rewards them with member-only deals on flights, hotels, car rentals and vacation packages. Members of the free for U loyalty program that book air and non-air travel through the platform can earn up to 5% cashback to use toward grocery purchases at any Albertsons Cos. stores including Albertsons, Safeway, Vons, Jewel-Osco, ACME and Shaw’s. Members of the Albertsons Cos. paid FreshPass loyalty program can earn up to 10% cashback. This generous cashback reward is yet another FreshPass perk where members enjoy benefits such as unlimited free delivery on orders over $30, points don't expire, extra savings on select private label brands, and other premium perks.

In addition to cashback from U Travel bookings, customers who sign up for Albertsons Cos.’ free for U loyalty program will receive $5 off their next purchase of $25 or more of qualifying items, and top members save 35% weekly with personalized deals, digital coupons, a birthday treat and a free monthly item.
