BOISE, Idaho — Albertsons Cos. has promoted Chad Coester to senior vice president of Own Brands. He succeeds Geoff White, who was recently named chief merchandising officer.
In his new post, Coester is responsible for Albersons’ growing portfolio of private label products.
“Chad brings infectious energy to everything he does,” White said. “His versatile background and deep commitment to innovation will serve him well as he leads our extraordinarily talented Own Brands team.”
Coester most recently served as GVP of sales and marketing for the Own Brands team, where he is credited with helping lead the effort to optimize and grow the Own Brands portfolio, which now includes nearly 11,000 products across 550 product categories. He also helped lead the ongoing and successful national marketing and merchandising campaigns that showcase such key growth brands as O Organics and Open Nature, the company said..
Previously Coester has held positions in procurement, e-Commerce operations, and marketing systems and processes. At Albertsons Cos., he has led manufacturing, merchandising, and private label teams. He has a B.A. in Business Communication from Sonoma State University and participated in the Food Industry Executive Program at Cornell University in 2014.
