Aldi begins $35 million renovation of Florida distribution center to support continued growth

BATAVIA, Ill. — Aldi has begun a $35 million renovation of its 1.12 million-square-foot distribution center located on 200 acres in Baldwin, Duval County, Florida, reinforcing the company’s long-term commitment to growth and supply chain efficiency in the state. The upgraded facility is expected to open in 2027.

The Baldwin project is one of three new regional distribution centers Aldi plans to develop in the coming years, alongside new facilities in Arizona and Colorado, as the company expands its national footprint.

“As part of this expansion, we have begun transitioning the Baldwin distribution center to better support our mission of offering high-quality products at the lowest prices of any national grocery store,” said J.R. Perry, Aldi regional vice president.

In addition to the Baldwin renovation, Aldi plans to expand its existing Haines City distribution center near Orlando, adding refrigeration capabilities to support the growing demand for fresh and perishable foods.

These infrastructure investments are part of Aldi’s broader growth strategy in Florida. The company opened more than 60 new and converted stores across the state last year and continues to see Florida as a key market for expansion.

Nationally, Aldi plans to open more than 180 new stores in 2026 and is targeting a total of 3,200 U.S. stores by the end of 2028. The expanded distribution network will help ensure efficient delivery, strong product availability, and continued value for customers.
