After 15 years as a registered nurse, Amanda Giles combined her interest in health care with an entrepreneurial bent to co-found Blistape, an innovative adhesive product designed to prevent blisters on the feet and other parts of the body. Debuting in 2024, the brand has made rapid inroads in the marketplace.
“Securing our first major retail partner with Walgreens in less than six months from launch was a huge and unexpected milestone for our team,” said Giles, who is now the company’s chief executive officer. “It validated the product quickly and set the pace for everything that followed. More recently, securing a retail partnership with Walmart has been our biggest step to date. Going from launch to Walmart in under two years is something we did not expect to happen so quickly, and it is a major growth moment for us.
“I am grateful to the Walmart foot care team for the opportunity and working with us through the process as we built the capabilities needed to scale. It is the kind of opportunity you build toward from day one, and we do not take it lightly.”
The development of effective, long-term partnerships is the most rewarding aspect of her work, according to Giles.
“I love building trust over time and turning a vendor relationship into a true partnership, one where both sides feel supported and confident in the outcome. That same approach extends to our manufacturing and supply chain partners, because building a reliable brand requires alignment and strong communication across every relationship behind the product.”
