Amazon expands Prime benefits through Uber Eats partnership

Amazon Prime members can now order from Uber Eats directly through Amazon with no delivery fee on qualifying restaurant orders of $25 or more, expanding the retailer’s food delivery offerings.

SEATTLE – Amazon has partnered with Uber Eats to offer Prime members nationwide restaurant delivery with no delivery fee on qualifying orders of $25 or more, extending the membership program’s benefits to food delivery.

The new service, launched on November 5, allows Prime members to browse restaurants and place orders directly on Amazon.com or in the Amazon Shopping app without creating a separate Uber Eats account or downloading another app.

The partnership gives Prime members access to hundreds of thousands of restaurants nationwide, including national chains, regional operators, and independent establishments. Amazon said the benefit is available in nearly 10,000 cities and towns nationwide.

“Whether it’s game night, family night, or date night, Prime’s new Uber Eats membership benefit makes getting dinner delivered even easier,” said Jamil Ghani, Amazon’s worldwide vice president for Prime. “This is what Prime is all about: unlimited free, fast delivery on a wide selection of products, big savings, fantastic entertainment, and now even more value on restaurant delivery with Uber Eats, all in a single membership.”

Amazon estimates that members could save more than $175 annually through the new benefit and Prime-exclusive offers, which would exceed the $139 cost of an annual Prime membership. Other fees may still apply.

To encourage adoption, Amazon is offering Prime members $20 off each of their first two qualifying Uber Eats orders of $25 or more within the first 14 days after launch. Prime Visa cardholders can also earn 5% back on Uber Eats purchases made through Amazon through December 5.

The integration further expands Amazon’s role in food and grocery delivery as the company competes for a larger share of household spending. Prime members already have free Same-Day Delivery on qualifying Amazon Grocery orders, and the Uber Eats partnership adds prepared meals from restaurants to the platform.

“Together with Amazon, we built an experience for Prime members designed to make restaurant delivery feel as natural, convenient, and affordable as ordering anything else on Uber Eats,” said Andrew Macdonald, Uber’s president and chief operating officer.

The new benefit is available to all eligible Prime members, including those enrolled in the discounted Prime for Young Adults and Prime Access programs.
