Amber Bynum serves as general merchandise manager for Sam’s Club China, where she leads strategy and execution across the general merchandise portfolio for one of the fastest-growing membership retail businesses in the world. Based in Shenzhen, she oversees merchandising vision, assortment strategy and business performance across key categories, shaping the broader merchandising direction of the China business in a highly competitive global market.
Bynum brings more than a decade of leadership experience at Walmart, most recently serving as vice president of consumables and health and wellness sourcing. In that role, she led complex global sourcing strategies, strengthened supplier partnerships and advanced innovation across essential categories serving millions of customers.
In China, she is focused on elevating Member’s Mark, strengthening global brand partnerships and building a high-performing local team positioned to scale sustainable growth. She is known for fostering highly collaborative work environments and consistently reinforcing the principle of beginning with the member experience, ensuring that every project and initiative is designed to meet and surpass member expectations.
