SUGAR LAND, Texas – API Group Holding — the parent company of Accredo Packaging, Inc. and Advance Polybag — has announced the launch of Advance Paperbag, Inc., a new division specializing in high-quality paper bags for the grocery, retail and foodservice industries.
The new product line features durable paper bags available with flat, twisted or no handles, in both natural and white Kraft finishes. Each bag can be customized with up to four print colors, allowing retailers to showcase their brand while offering an alternative solution to traditional plastic bags.
“API has always been driven by innovation and sustainability,” said Rex Varn, Chief Operating Officer and Vice President, API Group. “Advance Paperbag allows us to extend those values into the growing paper packaging market, giving our customers more choices that help meet both their performance expectations and sustainability goals.”
Advance Paperbag operates from a 165,000-square-foot manufacturing facility backed by a $20 million investment from API Group.
Advance Paperbag celebrated its inauguration on January 13 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its manufacturing facility attended by API Group executives, local officials and industry partners. Key attendees included API Group CEO Hank Nguyen, President Chinh Nguyen, Chief Operating Officer Rex Varn, Executive Vice President Kelly Duong, Chief Business Officer Maria Nguyen, Mayor of the City of Sugar Land Carol McCutcheon, City Council At Large Position 1 Jim Vonderhaar, Jennifer Alexander, Business Development Manager, from the Office of Economic Development, Fort Bend City Commissioner, Andy Meyers and other executives and officials.
Advance Paperbag said it aims to create impact-driven, customer-centered packaging solutions that add value for buyers and deliver measurable results for sellers. By combining quality materials with thoughtful design and customizable branding, the new division helps businesses meet shifting consumer expectations and environmental commitments.
