Bajaj Medical LLC will introduce a topical antiseptic solution, chlorhexidine gluconate (CHG) 0.75% in the fourth quarter of 2013.

CHG 0.75% is used in institutional settings and as an ingredient in antibacterial hand washes and gels. It is an alternative to Triclosan, an ingredient found in many antibacterial soaps and other personal care items that has come under review by the Food and Drug Administration. CHG has been approved by the FDA.

Bajaj Medical has recently acquired a 40,000-square-foot manufacturing facility here that is registered with the FDA, and that will enable it to distribute its CHG-based hand wash throughout the United States and ultimately to global markets as well.

The facility also equips Bajaj to manufacture prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications and medical devices. The company also provides OEM and joint development of product formulations with major companies.
