Bi-Lo Holdings LLC, the parent company of the BI-LO, Harveys and Winn-Dixie supermarket chains, has changed its name to Southeastern Grocers.
The move will not affect the names of those chains or the outlets they operate. Southeastern Grocers operates 790 grocery stores under the BI-LO, Harveys and Winn-Dixie banners in eight southeastern states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
The name change was originally planned to occur in conjunction with an initial public offering that was announced in 2013 but withdrawn last year.
