FOLEY, Ala. — BJ’s Wholesale Club is expanding its presence in Alabama with the opening of its second location in the state, as the membership warehouse club continues to extend its footprint into new markets.
The company said its new Foley club, located at 3275 Palm Beach Way, will open Sept. 25. The location follows BJ’s entry into Alabama and adds to the retailer’s growing presence in the Southeast.
To mark the opening, the on-site BJ’s Gas is offering members regular gasoline for $2 per gallon on Sept. 23 from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., with a 30-gallon limit.
“At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we take care of the families who depend on us,” said Ali Maria, club manager of the Foley location. “We’re excited to bring unbeatable value and convenience to the families of Foley and are honored to be part of the community.”
The new club will offer BJ’s assortment of fresh foods, produce, full-service deli and bakery items, household essentials, home décor, pet supplies, toys and consumer electronics, among other products.
Members will also have access to the retailer’s omnichannel services, including curbside pickup, in-club pickup, same-day delivery and shipping. Shoppers using the BJ’s mobile app can use ExpressPay to scan products while shopping and bypass the traditional checkout line.
BJ’s is offering introductory membership promotions in conjunction with the opening, with one-year memberships starting at $40 for a limited time. New members can also earn a $10 reward for each $100 spent during the club’s first 90 days of operation.
The retailer is also extending its hunger-relief efforts to the Foley market through a partnership with Feeding the Gulf Coast. The club will regularly donate produce, meat, dairy products and other food to support people facing food insecurity in the region.
BJ’s has worked with Feeding America and its network of food banks for more than 15 years, providing the equivalent of more than 165 million meals, according to the company.
The Foley opening comes as BJ’s continues to expand beyond its traditional Northeast base. Founded in New England in 1984, the Marlborough, Mass.-based company now operates 267 clubs and 208 BJ’s Gas locations across 22 states.
