SAN FRANCISCO — T&T Supermarket, Canada’s largest Asian grocery chain, is bringing its mix of fresh foods, viral baked goods, and authentic Asian flavors to San Francisco, marking its latest move in a growing U.S. expansion.
The upcoming 2026 opening at San Francisco City Center, located at 2675 Geary Boulevard, will mark T&T’s third U.S. location—following the debut of its Bellevue, Washington flagship in 2024 and a recently announced store in San Jose, Calif. The San Francisco store is set to serve such neighborhoods as Pacific Heights, the Richmond District, and surrounding communities.
“The city offers a unique and eclectic food scene, and the neighborhood we’ve chosen is a vibrant retail hub,” said T&T CEO Tina Lee. “We’re looking forward to serving food-loving San Franciscans with our fresh foods, delicious meals, and baked goods.”
Located near the Kaiser Permanente Medical Center and the University of San Francisco, the new store is expected to be a lunch-hour draw for professionals and students alike — and a destination for residents craving Asian comfort foods and culinary staples, the company said.
The retailer’s expansion is backed by Acadia Realty Trust, owner of San Francisco City Center. “We are thrilled to welcome T&T Supermarkets to San Francisco,” said Acadia CEO Kenneth Bernstein. “This category-leading brand brings diversity and quality to our retail mix and will be a strong anchor in the community.”
The San Francisco location will showcase the full T&T experience, including:
- 200+ private-label products such as soup dumplings, seaweed snacks, and signature marinades
- A made-to-order street food section with Peking Duck, BBQ skewers, sushi, and Crispy Papa Chicken
- A robust in-store bakery offering over 150 varieties of fresh bread and pastries, including TikTok-famous treats like Lava Mochi Puffs and Napoleon Portuguese Egg Tarts
- An expansive beverage selection with a curated assortment of sake and soju
Founded in Vancouver in 1993 and now operating 38 stores across Canada and Washington state, T&T Supermarkets has carved out a niche as a destination for authentic Asian cuisine, blending traditional tastes with modern retail appeal. Under the leadership of second-generation CEO Tina Lee, the brand has become a standout in the increasingly competitive ethnic grocery sector.
With San Francisco’s diverse population and appetite for global cuisine, T&T’s entry comes at a time when the city is seeing a renewed focus on food, culture, and community-driven retail.
“San Francisco is on the rise,” Lee said, “and we’re excited to be part of its next chapter.”
