Claire's to relocate headquarters

Retailer of budget jewelry and accessories will move from one Chicago suburb to another in early 2027.

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. – Claire’s, a retailer of jewelry and accessories to teens and tweens, is relocating its headquarters to the Chicago suburb of Rosemont, Ill., in an office building adjacent to Chicago O’Hare International Airport.

The move from its current headquarters in Hoffman Estates, Ill., is expected to happen early next year.

Claire’s Holdings LLC has leased 43,200 square feet office space at Columbia Centre III, a nine-story building with amenities that include a fitness center, on-site dining and retail space.

Claire’s was rescued from bankruptcy last summer when Lawrence Berger and Tom Ripley, co-founders of investment firm Ames Watson Capital LLC, emerged with an offer to buy about 1,000 stores just a few weeks after the retailer filed for Chapter 11 and warned it would liquidate its North American operations if a buyer wasn’t found.

Ames Watson has a track record with consumer brands, with investments in such companies as Ebbets Field Flannels, South Moon Under, and Lids. Berger and Ripley said that in doing due diligence on Claire’s they saw an opportunity for renewed growth.
