The beverage giant said that J. Alexander "Sandy" Douglas Jr., currently senior vice president and president of Coca-Cola North America, has been promoted to executive vice president. Also moved up was chief technical officer Ed Hays, from vice president to senior vice president.
Douglas, 53, has served as senior vice president and president of Coca-Cola North America since Jan. 1, 2014. He joined the company in 1988. The 56-year-old Hays, with the company since 1985, became chief technical officer on March 1 after previously serving as vice president of global science, regulatory and formula governance.
Named to the position of vice president were Julie Hamilton, chief customer and commercial leadership officer, and Kelly Johnstone, global operations director for strategic security.
Hamilton, 49, has served as chief customer and commercial leadership officer since April 1, after serving for four years as executive assistant to chairman and chief executive officer Muhtar Kent. She started at Coca-Cola in 1996.
Johnstone, 54, is slated to take the reins as vice president for strategic security on May 1, succeeding Jim Hush, who is retiring after 23 years with the company. An experienced security leader with more than 30 years of experience, she joined Coca-Cola in 2000 as a senior security manager.
