ATLANTA — For 140 years, as consumer tastes have evolved, The Coca-Cola Company has expanded from one iconic beverage into a portfolio of approximately 200 brands across sparkling soft drinks, waters and hydration, coffee and tea, juices, dairy and plant-based drinks for every taste, occasion and generation.
In the United States, products including Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, Diet Coke, Sprite, Gold Peak, Powerade, Dasani, smartwater, BODYARMOR, Minute Maid, Simply and fairlife are a part of daily life—shared at family tables, neighborhood restaurants, local businesses, sporting events and community moments, big and small.
Behind every beverage is a system working every day to serve consumers and strengthen communities across America.
The Coca-Cola Company commissioned an independent study to measure the 2025 contributions of the Coca-Cola system — including the company’s U.S. operations and its network of 61 bottling partners — on the American economy and local communities. Key findings show that in one year alone, the Coca-Cola system:
- Contributes $85 billion to the U.S. gross domestic product or approximately $10 million in U.S. economic activity every hour.
- Supports nearly 1 million jobs across the country, including direct jobs within the Coca-Cola system, jobs supported by the goods and services it purchases, and the jobs supported through retailers and restaurants, from large national chains to small businesses, where its beverage products are sold and enjoyed.
- Spends approximately $37 billion with American suppliers, supporting American farmers and a nationwide network of businesses that help source ingredients, produce packaging and transport our beverages across the country.
- Contributes $177 million in community programs in the U.S. together with The Coca-Cola Foundation and the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation, including $60 million in education and economic empowerment.
- Keeps 98 cents of every dollar spent on its beverage products in the U.S. economy by sourcing, employing, producing and distributing locally.
These results underscore the Coca-Cola system's enduring role in strengthening local economies in all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico, with economic contributions exceeding $1 billion in 25 states. The system’s production network includes more than 70 production facilities and hundreds of distribution centers, keeping the nation refreshed while supporting jobs, businesses of all sizes and communities.
The impact is not only measured in what the Coca-Cola system contributes today, but in what it is building for tomorrow—with $10 billion in planned U.S. infrastructure investments from 2026 through 2030. This includes new or expanded production, distribution and office facilities, with projects previously announced in several communities, such as in Rancho Cucamonga, California; Colorado Springs, Colorado; Indianapolis, Indiana; Birmingham, Alabama; Coopersville, Michigan; St. Cloud, Minnesota; Orlando, Florida; and Webster, New York.
"This assessment reinforces what we see every day: the Coca-Cola system is deeply rooted in America and continues to deliver meaningful value for the people and communities we serve," said John Murphy, president and chief financial officer, The Coca-Cola Company. "Through a strong production network, local jobs, supplier partnerships and community investments, we are building on more than a century of impact while reinforcing the resilience of our system and communities across America."
The Coca-Cola system operates through independent bottling partners — from the first Coca-Cola bottling operation established in Chattanooga, Tennessee, in 1899 to Liberty Coca-Cola Beverages, the newest U.S. bottler, established in 2017.
Coca-Cola Consolidated, the Coca-Cola system’s largest bottler in the U.S. by consumer reach, operates across 14 states, providing a powerful example of how the system’s national impact is rooted in local communities. “We live and work in the same communities we serve, so the impact of our business is personal,” said Dave Katz, president and chief operating officer of Coca-Cola Consolidated. “It’s about the people who show up every day to make, move and sell our products, the customers who count on us, and the communities that welcome us. That connection is what makes our impact real and what has allowed our business to grow alongside communities for generations.”
