NEW YORK – Combe Inc. has ramped up production of hand sanitizers under its Williams brand to help with the national demand for these types of products. The company will donate significant supply to employees’ families, local health care workers and first-responders, while also meeting the inventory needs of North American brick-and-mortar and online retailers. The company launched “Project Community,” the name given to their effort to rapidly manufacture hand sanitizer products, motivated by the serious impact of the novel coronavirus in their local Westchester community and the increased demand for proper hygiene practices. Keech Combe Shetty, Combe’s executive chairwoman, recently expressed the company’s motivation. “Combe is fortunate to have a solid core business and a track record in manufacturing cosmetics, over-the-counter drugs and medical devices, and we felt that we needed to put this know-how to work for the greater good. So, we have been busy adding new manufacturing lines, procuring ingredients and components to produce highly needed hand sanitizer gel and wipes. From idea to production, it’s taken just three weeks… record time for Combe. Williams is America’s original soap brand, established in 1840. It’s the perfect brand to help America maintain clean, safe hygiene at this time.”
Williams Hand Sanitizer Gel and Wipes are being made in Combe’s U.S.-based O-T-C drug manufacturing facility in compliance with FDA guidance and safety standards. Williams Hand Sanitizer Gel and Wipes are formulated to kill 99.99% of many common bacteria. Alcohol is the active antibacterial ingredient in both formulas. Moisturizing glycerin plus aloe in the formulas help prevent dry skin. The products are designed to provide sanitizer options for when washing with soap and water isn’t possible.
Williams Hand Sanitizer products are now available at or shipping to retailers including, but not limited to, Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, Shopper’s Drug Mart, Publix, Stop n Shop, Wakefern, Food Lion and Amazon.
