Costco Wholesale Corp. plans to roll out health and wellness information kiosks in its pharmacies in Ontario using a solution from shopper marketing provider Aisle7.
Portland, Ore.-based Aisle7, which specializes in wellness-driven shopper marketing programs for food and drug retailers, said Wednesday that Costco Canada’s Ontario locations have been added to its customer network.
Costco’s Ontario stores are slated to implement the Aisle7 In-Store marketing program to make customer self-care education on generic and brand-name medications, as well as other drug information, available through interactive kiosks, according to Aisle7. The warehouse club retailer is enlisting the solution as a way to expand assisted shopper services in the stores’ pharmacy departments and to promote monthly health events.
"We’re excited to offer our shoppers the Aisle7 program as an extension of the services we provide in our pharmacy," Rick Duffy, assistant vice president of pharmacy for Costco’s eastern division, U.S. and Canada, said in a statement. "Aisle7 provides us with a credible, easy-to-use information resource for our shoppers as well as a customizable marketing platform to promote our monthly health events."
Aisle7 In-Store offers a variety of in-store content, including shopping guides for prescription and over-the-counter drugs; health, wellness and nutrition; food and meal planning; and diet planning and weight control. The program also provides customer tools such as product ratings, shopping list creators, cross-sell recommendations and informational feature articles.
Retailers can customize the kiosk display with their logo, colors and other brand elements and deliver targeted marketing messages and promotions to shoppers, among other capabilities.
Other food and drug retailers using Aisle7 solutions, the company said, include Pharmaca, CVS/Longs, Publix, Albertsons, Meijer, bigg’s, Fred Meyer, Whole Foods Markets, Martin’s Super Markets and Ahold.
