WASHINGTON — The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN)  will hold its annual flagship events virtually in 2020. The traditional science-focused day-long symposium, “The Workshop: CRN’s Day of Science,” is transforming to span two half-days, renamed as “Science In Session,” taking place on Tuesday, Oct. 13, and Wednesday, Oct. 14. “The Conference: CRN’s Annual Symposium for the Dietary Supplement Industry,” CRN’s traditional in-person meeting, will be reimagined as a virtual experience with the theme “Now, New, Next,” taking place Wednesday, Oct. 14, through Friday, Oct. 16, and comprising several partial day sessions and networking events.

“Science In Session” will convene experts to discuss research challenges and opportunities for developing and utilizing public health recommendations around dietary supplements. CRN’s “Now, New, Next” will present a reimagined virtual experience with an enhanced interactive format designed to engage, excite and inspire—with the caliber of speakers and content attendees have come to expect from CRN. Both events will deliver the substantial educational content, provocative conversations and valuable networking that attendees have traditionally enjoyed while taking advantage of the features only a virtual experience can offer.

CRN president and CEO Steve Mister said, “The broader world events of this year are giving CRN the opportunity to reimagine our annual industry-wide gatherings to keep our members and other stakeholders safe and to reach even more dietary supplement and functional food professionals through a virtual platform this year. With new media come new possibilities—and new ways to participate. Our team will optimize the virtual experience with an enhanced interactive format, incorporating new technologies and some fun new approaches to interacting with your industry colleagues. And as always, we’re looking forward to digging into the most substantive and stimulating issues the industry is facing.”

Separate registration options for “Science in Session” and “Now, New, Next” will be available as well as a package price option for those who want to attend both, with discounted rates for CRN members and an early bird discount through Aug. 31. Further details, including how to register, are coming soon to www.crnusa.org/2020events. In addition, a variety of new sponsorship opportunities are available this year that incorporate the features of the virtual platform. Please contact Carl Hyland for details: chyland@crnusa.org.
