CRN welcomes new members

The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN), the leading trade association for the dietary supplement and functional food industry announces the addition of seven new members to its global roster.

WASHINGTON — The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN), the leading trade association for the dietary supplement and functional food industry announces the addition of seven new members to its global roster. This growth reflects CRN’s dedication to convening an array of leading industry stakeholders, united in a commitment to the highest ethical principles in their dealings with customers, suppliers, competitors, regulators, and consumers, as established in the association’s Code of Ethics.

New to CRN, following approval by the association’s board of directors, are voting members Focus Consumer Healthcare; Nalu Bio; Nutraforia; Purple Tree Labs; and Standard Process; international member Vitafor; and associate member The O’Connor Group.

VOTING MEMBERS

  • Focus Consumer Healthcare, based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, specializes in revitalizing underrepresented brands across OTC, personal care, and dietary supplements markets, including the Garlique brand, garlic supplement line.
  • Nalu Bio is at the forefront of developing no-high cannabinoid-based products, including minor cannabinoids and AI-enhanced bioactives tailored for the supplement and food and beverage industries. Founded in 2019, and based in San Francisco, California, Nalu Bio’s innovative approach to product development accelerates the potential of cannabinoids, developing a chemistry-derived global supply chain to advance women’s health.
  • Nutraforia LLC continues the legacy of Dr. Siegal’s supplement brand, established in 1975 and relaunched in 2024 with its first product line, Dr. Siegal’s Just Enough multivitamins. Nutraforia, headquartered in North Bethesda, Maryland, develops formulations in-house with contract manufacturing in the U.S. by an NSF-certified cGMP facility.
  • Purple Tree Labs develops and manufactures post-celebration wellness and hydration supplements under its flagship Purple Tree consumer brand of products made in the U.S. at a GMP-compliant facility. Based in San Diego, California, the company was founded in 2018 with a mission to enable health-minded social adults to lead outstanding work, fitness, and family lives.
  • Standard Process is a vertically integrated company with a 95-year history of providing high quality whole-food based supplements. Many of the ingredients used in Standard Process dietary supplement and food products are from its certified organic 868-acre farm located a mile from its manufacturing facility in Palmyra, Wisconsin. Standard Process maintains a Nutrition Innovation center that is committed to the performance of clinical research that seeks to advance health through whole-food based nutrition

INTERNATIONAL MEMBER

  • Vitafor is one of the largest dietary supplement manufacturers and CMOs in Brazil, with a portfolio of more than 150 finished products. Primarily serving consumer markets in Latin America and Portugal and forecasting future expansion in Europe, Vitafor is known for its advancement in scientific research and ongoing healthcare innovation, as well as consumer education on the science and responsible use of dietary supplements. The company will host its 10th Annual Vitafor Science Congress in 2024, with an agenda of keynotes and lectures on nutrition and dietary supplementation and foreseeing attendance of 1,100 health professionals.

ASSOCIATE MEMBER

  • The O’Connor Group, a boutique contract sales provider focusing on physician and/or pharmacist detailing, has been in business for 23.5 years serving leading companies in the pharmaceutical, medical device, OTC, and retail industries. The project-driven firm prides itself on the quality of representatives it trains and deploys on behalf of its clients. All programs are customized and dedicated to meeting and exceeding client needs.
