WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS Health has reduced the price of private label period products by 25%.
CVS also said on its website that it is paying the tax on period products on behalf of customers where and when possible, and is working to help eliminate the tax nationwide.
“Here, period health matters,” the web post says. “That’s why we’re helping to improve access to period care. Women deserve quality when it comes to the products they may need each month,”
“Here, we believe in equity,” the post adds. “We don’t think women should pay more than men for the same thing. That’s why we’ve reviewed thousands of products to ensure similar items are priced equally, no matter who they are for.”
The company’s MinuteClinics offer services for women, it notes. “No subject is too taboo when it concerns your health. From menstrual care to heart health, MinuteClinic offers a variety of unique health care services for women including heart-health screenings, menopause care, mental health and more.”
The clinics also offers virtual care from board-certified health care providers seven days a week, nationwide.
