WOONSOCKET, R.I. –CVS Health is the first company in the United States to receive the Menopause Friendly Accreditation from MiDOViA, an organization dedicated to advancing workplace menopause education, services, and advocacy. The recognition highlights CVS Health’s commitment to supporting its employees and customers with comprehensive benefits, educational initiatives, and peer support programs designed to help them navigate menopause and promote healthy aging.

MiDOViA’s Menopause Friendly Accreditation is awarded to organizations that take significant steps beyond awareness, implementing meaningful workplace changes in menopause care. CVS Health achieved this distinction through several key initiatives:

  • Education: Expanding menopause education to train managers and inform employees about its workplace impact.
  • Peer Support & Coaching: Establishing open forums and peer support groups for employees to share experiences and access guidance.
  • Training: Partnering with The Menopause Society to equip CVS Health clinicians and care managers with the latest evidence-based practices for menopause symptom management.
  • Benefits: Providing access to clinicians specialized in menopause care and offering targeted midlife health resources.

“CVS Health is always looking for opportunities to support the personalized needs of our colleagues and the people we serve through all stages of their health journeys,” said Dr. Joanne Armstrong, vice president and chief medical officer of Women’s Health and Genomics, CVS Health. “Menopause is not addressed enough in the workplace, and more work needs to be done to help women navigate through this critical time in their lives. CVS Health receiving the Menopause Friendly Accreditation validates the work we’re doing to help ensure women have access to the resources they need to live as healthy as possible.”

“We are honored to recognize CVS Health as a pioneer in workplace menopause support,” said April Haberman, Chief Executive Officer of MiDOViA. “This is more than just an accreditation—it’s a call to action for companies across the U.S. to prioritize the well-being of midlife employees. CVS Health’s leadership demonstrates that supporting women through menopause is not just a health imperative but a crucial business strategy for employee retention, well-being, and productivity.”

Currently, an estimated 75 million women in the U.S. are in some stage of perimenopause, menopause, or post-menopause, including 27 million in the workforce—representing 20% of the female workforce. Despite the widespread impact, nine in ten women experience menopause symptoms that affect their health, work performance, and quality of life, yet 83% feel stigma surrounding these symptoms. Additionally, only 20% of healthcare providers are trained to address menopause-related concerns.

CVS Health’s commitment to menopause support is part of its broader strategy to deliver personalized, effective care. The company develops customized health programs tailored to every stage of a woman’s life. CVS Health and its subsidiary, Aetna, also assist employers in creating menopause-friendly work environments by offering clinical and non-clinical solutions. These include virtual provider networks for midlife care, behavioral health services, educational programs, data-driven analytics for proactive health actions, and peer support networks to help break down barriers to care.

Furthermore, MinuteClinic, a CVS Health service, provides virtual and in-person menopause care across 40 states. Many MinuteClinic providers have received specialized training from The Menopause Society to offer expert menopause support.
