Diab has served as president of health and wellness of Walmart’s U.S. division since April 2014, when he replaced Dr. John Agwunobi in the role. In that position Diab was responsible for the retailer’s full-service health and wellness offerings, including pharmacies, vision centers and primary care clinics, comprising approximately 5,000 locations nationwide with more than 85,000 associates.
Before he took on that role, Diab was president of Walmart U.S.’s Midwest division.
Diab began his career as a pharmacy manager at American Stores, parent of Jewel-Osco and Sav-on Drugs. He served in regional and divisional operations roles at CVS Caremark Corp. and Rite Aid Corp. before joining Walmart in 2009 as director of operations.
Diab is expected to start his new job at Brookdale, which describes itself as the nation’s leading operator of senior living communities, on November 16. He will have responsibility for all aspects of the company’s operations, including community and field operations, marketing and sales.
