CORAOPOLIS, Pa. — Dick’s Sporting Goods is adding a paid membership tier to its ScoreCard rewards program, offering subscribers benefits that include free shipping, exclusive promotions, and a 20% discount on in-store services and experiences.
The new ScoreCard + tier costs $99 a year. Members will receive $100 a year in rewards, paid out quarterly in $25 increments, the company said. Members are also eligible for one free service or experience a year, up to $100 in value, and can earn three times the points on one purchase each year.
The specialty retailer is also enhancing its free ScoreCard loyalty program. For instance, members are now able to trade in 150 points for a $5 reward rather than wait to accrue 300 points for a $10 reward. Cardholders can also earn and redeem points through Dick’s in-store services.
"Our relationship with our athletes goes beyond transactions," Emily Silver, chief marketing, ecommerce and athlete experience officer at Dick’s, said in a press release. ”Our enhanced ScoreCard and new ScoreCard+ programs recognize the deep relationships we have with our athletes and rewards them not just for purchases, but for all the ways in which they interact with us today.”
Dick’s said roughly 30 million customers have joined its loyalty program and they account for more than 75% of the company’s sales.
Dick’s recently relaunched its credit care to allow cardholders to earn 10% back in rewards on qualifying purchases.
The company last month announced it was expanding its partnership with Lids to bring dedicated Lids shops to 100 Dick’s locations nationwide. Lids currently has a presence in 46 Dick’s stores. Each Lids shop will showcase Lids' extensive assortment of hats, jerseys, and T-shirts, including officially licensed professional and college sports team apparel and hats featuring popular brands and trends.
