PITTSBURGH — Dick’s Sporting Goods is expanding its partnership with Lids to bring dedicated Lids shops to 100 Dick’s locations nationwide.
Lids currently has a presence in 46 Dick’s stores. The companies expect to hit their new target by summer’s end.
“Our athletes are increasingly looking for new ways to rep their favorite teams, their style and the latest trends,” according to David Progar, senior vice president, licensed, at Dick’s. “By partnering with Lids, a leader in licensed headwear, we’ll be able to offer them more choices to meet their needs for sport, lifestyle and fandom.”
Each Lids shop will showcase Lids' extensive assortment of licensed and lifestyle headwear. The companies will collaborate on in-store product training for Dick’s employees and visual merchandising.
"Together, we're creating a dedicated destination within DICK'S where fans can find the most comprehensive assortment of team headwear and a new in-store experience," said Lawrence Berger, chairman of Lids.
Indianapolis-based Lids Inc. sells hats, jerseys, and T-shirts, including officially licensed professional and college sports team apparel and hats featuring popular brands and trends.
