Dollar General expands same-day delivery reach as myDG service scales nationwide

Retailer extends digital convenience to rural communities while strengthening omnichannel ecosystem

GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. — Dollar General is expanding the reach and capabilities of myDG Delivery, its same-day delivery service available through the company’s app and website, as part of a broader push to enhance convenience and digital access for customers, particularly in rural communities.

The expansion positions myDG Delivery as a complement to Dollar General’s extensive brick-and-mortar footprint, enabling the retailer to bring everyday essentials directly to customers’ homes while meeting shoppers through multiple digital touchpoints.

“myDG Delivery is helping bridge the digital gap by extending same-day delivery to rural communities nationwide,” said Lydia Thacher, vice president of digital commerce at Dollar General. She said the service supports existing customers while introducing new shoppers to the brand through a streamlined digital experience.

To support adoption, Dollar General is offering free delivery on one myDG Delivery order for customers using their myDG account from Jan. 20 through Feb. 28, 2026. Customers may also choose to expedite delivery to one hour or less for an additional $1 fee.

Dollar General said its store network gives it a distinct advantage in expanding delivery access, noting that roughly 75% of the U.S. population lives within five miles of a Dollar General location. The myDG Delivery service is now available in more than 17,000 stores through the DG app and website.

The company has also broadened its delivery reach through third-party partnerships. Dollar General currently works with DoorDash to serve more than 18,000 stores and recently launched a collaboration with Uber Eats, which is available from more than 17,000 locations.

The expansion of myDG Delivery is part of Dollar General’s wider digital strategy, which includes its DG Media Network. Increased engagement across the DG app, website and delivery services is helping the retailer deepen personalization and create additional value for brand partners. The company said its app now reaches more than 7 million monthly active users and supports more than 90 addressable shopper profiles.

Dollar General views the combination of myDG Delivery and DG Media Network as a key component of its omnichannel approach, connecting consumer packaged goods brands with a large and often underserved customer base.

As digital engagement continues to grow, the company said it remains focused on evolving its services to better meet the needs of the communities it serves, while maintaining affordability and convenience across both physical and digital channels.
