GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. — Dollar General says it is rolling out a series of holiday food discounts and promotions to make meal preparation more affordable, nutritious, and convenient for customers in the communities it serves, many of which have been identified by the U.S. Department of Agriculture as food deserts.

"At Dollar General, we understand that access to nutritious food is critical," said Allen Warch, vice president and division merchandise manager of food and fresh. "Our team works relentlessly to make healthier options both affordable and accessible for customers and communities."

Shoppers can expect promotions on holiday favorites from national brands such as Betty Crocker, Dole, and Nestlé, as well as staples from Dollar General’s Clover Valley private brand.

This week’s offers include two for $5 Pillsbury biscuits and crescent rolls, 2 for $5 Philadelphia Cream Cheese, 2 for $3.50 Betty Crocker cake mixes and icing, and select Clover Valley canned vegetables at 2 for $1. Additionally, through November 28, the retailer is offering “buy two, get one free” Thanksgiving bundle deals featuring ingredients for popular dishes like Green Bean Casserole, Sweet Potato Casserole, and Pumpkin Pie.

Dollar General is also promoting healthier holiday cooking with new Better For You recipes developed in collaboration with registered dietitian and nutritionist Mary Alice Cain. Affordable options such as Twice-Baked Sweet Potatoes, Baked Apple-Pecan Chicken, and Green Beans with Crunchy Ramen Topping are designed to cost less than $2.50 per serving.

The retailer has invested in expanding its fresh produce offerings, now available in over 5,400 stores, with fresh meat provided at approximately 600 DG Market locations. Although Dollar General is not a traditional grocer, it has more points of produce distribution than any other U.S. retailer.

In addition to its discounts, Dollar General continues its commitment to fighting food insecurity through its partnership with Feeding America. Since the partnership began in 2021, the company has donated over $4 million and more than 37 million meals through in-kind donations. By serving one-third of the nation’s counties, Dollar General provides essential food items to neighbors in need year-round.

To help customers save even more during the holiday season, Dollar General is hosting DG Deal Days—three-day sales events every Thursday through Saturday from Halloween to Christmas. These deals, combined with the retailer’s everyday low prices and the $5 off $25 offer on Saturdays, allow shoppers to stack savings. Additional promotions and personalized deals are available through the myDG app.

As the nation’s largest small-box discount retailer, Dollar General remains committed to its mission of Serving Others, ensuring that customers can access quality, affordable food while enjoying a hassle-free shopping experience during the holiday season and beyond.
