NASHVILLE — Dollar General Corp. presented its inaugural A Day of Beauty event at the Music City Center here on Saturday, hosted by Chanté Moore, a singer, songwriter and Dollar General celebrity ambassador.

The free community event highlighted the latest hair and makeup products offered at Dollar General. It featured free product samples, door prizes and beauty tips from experts representing the leading multicultural health and beauty brands.

The event also celebrated the introduction of BEAUTYCENTS, a new health and beauty lifestyle magazine available exclusively at select Dollar General stores.

The event provided Dollar General with an opportunity to introduce an array of new multicultural hair and beauty products designed to help users look their best and stretch their budget, remarked Makia Embrey, Dollar General’s senior manager for customer insights.

Representatives from Advanced Beauty Care, Advanced Beauty Inc., Ampro Industries, Beauty 21 Cosmetics, Bronner Brothers, Dial Corp., House of Cheatham, KISS Products, L’Oréal USA, Luster, Maybelline/Garnier, Namaste, Revlon Pro, Strength of Nature, Unilever and Universal Beauty were on hand providing brand information and free product samples.

Popular local and national health and beauty bloggers including Nicole Walters, Rachel Odem and Ijeoma Eboh appeared at the event offering their tips, demonstrations and best practices for product use.

Copies of BEAUTYCENTS magazine, with Dollar General coupons to help shoppers save on necessities and spend more on beauty, were distributed at the event.

"I have always been price conscious, but not to the point that I will compromise value," remarked Moore.
