The retailer opened 11 stores in the quarter and noted that it was on track to meet its goal of adding 70 to 80 outlets in the fiscal year ending next month.
Dollarama sells merchandise priced up to $3 (Canadian).
The company’s same-store sales climbed 5.9% in the third quarter compared to 4.8% a year ago, aided by an increase in the number of transactions and a larger basket size. Revenue rose 12.4% to $588 million. Profit increased to $73 million, or 55 cents per share, from $61.7 million.
Dollarama ended the quarter with 928 stores.
