SAN FRANCISCO — DoorDash is expanding its retail Marketplace to include Macy’s, Anthropologie, The North Face, Vans and Timberland, while rolling out a service that allows consumers to have Dashers return eligible purchases to stores.
Macy’s is joining the platform, with more than 350 stores nationwide, while Anthropologie is offering products from more than 220 stores. The North Face, Vans and Timberland, all owned by VF Corp., are available through more than 350 stores nationwide.
The additions broaden DoorDash’s push beyond restaurant and grocery delivery into apparel, beauty, footwear, and home products. More than half of the NRF Top 100 Retailers now partner with DoorDash, according to the company.
DoorDash is also launching Dasher Returns, which lets consumers pay a flat $7.99 fee to have an eligible retail purchase picked up from their door and returned to the store. No box or shipping label is required, and DoorDash said a Dasher can arrive for pickup in as little as 30 minutes.
The service is available in select cities and is expected to roll out across the U.S. in November.
“This is what we mean by the mall in your pocket: the brands you already know and trust, on the shelf near you, delivered as easily as walking into the mall used to be,” said Shanna Prevé, DoorDash’s chief revenue officer.
DoorDash said its incrementality studies found that as many as 90% of a retailer’s first-time shoppers on the platform were incremental, based on the highest observed result across the retailers analyzed.
