Family Dollar forms partnership with McLane

MATTHEWS, N.C. — Family Dollar Stores Inc. has formed a strategic partnership with McLane Co., the nation’s leading provider of grocery and food service supply chain solutions.

As a result, Family Dollar will be able to offer customers a broader selection of merchandise, including refrigerated and frozen food.

"We are broadening our assortment and increasing our relevancy to our customers," said Family Dollar chairman and chief executive officer Howard Levine. "McLane’s national footprint and broad distribution network make them a great partner to support our growth initiatives."

In addition to providing the retailer a national supply chain for refrigerated and frozen products, the association with McLane will help Family Dollar tailor its assortments to local markets.
