"Providing value and convenience have been the cornerstone of our business for more than fifty years," said Robert Giles, Family Dollar divisional vice president. "Our relationship with Western Union reinforces that position and gives our customers another compelling reason to shop at Family Dollar."

Western Union announced last December an agreement to offer the Western Union goCASH in-lane service through InComm, a marketer, distributor and technology innovator of stored-value gift and prepaid cards.

"Western Union sees the goCASH as an opportunity to strengthen both its relationship and value proposition with consumers seeking convenient options to manage their time, finances and money transfer needs,” said Carter Hunt, senior vice president of global key accounts, Western Union.

Family Dollar, based in Matthews, N.C., currently operates in 44 states.
