CLEVELAND – Flashfood, the leading marketplace for affordable groceries, today announced a partnership expansion with Buehler’s Fresh Foods, bringing Flashfood to all 14 Buehler’s locations in Northeast Ohio. Through the Flashfood app, shoppers can now find fresh produce, meat, dairy, bakery items, prepared foods, and more at significant discounts, helping people save on groceries while keeping perfectly good food out of landfills.
A longstanding local grocer, Buehler’s Fresh Foods is known for its commitment to fresh, high-quality food, including fresh produce and bakery goods, expertly cut meats from skilled butchers, and convenient ready-to-go prepared foods. Through its partnership with Flashfood, Buehler’s will offer surplus food from its stores at a discount through the Flashfood app, creating more opportunities for shoppers to save on groceries.
The launch comes as grocery prices continue to put pressure on household budgets, with groceries costing 33% more than they did in 2019 – a $150 cart in 2019 is now $200 (NPR). Since the three-store pilot launch in May, shoppers have already saved thousands of dollars on their groceries. With Flashfood now available across all 14 Buehler’s stores, even more shoppers throughout Northeast Ohio will have access to affordable, fresh groceries.
“Buehler’s has been a trusted part of Northeast Ohio communities for generations, and their commitment to fresh, quality food makes them a great fit for Flashfood,” said Jordan Schenck, CEO of Flashfood. “We’re already seeing shoppers save thousands of dollars and keep thousands of pounds of good food from going to waste. We’re excited to bring Flashfood to more Buehler’s shoppers and give families another way to make their grocery dollars go further.”
“At Buehler’s Fresh Foods we are committed to our communities, providing top quality foods and simply doing what’s right,” said Daniel Shanahan, Buehler’s Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis. “Our mission is Putting People First, our employees, our customers, and our neighbors. Partnering with Flashfood is a great way to help reduce food waste and increase access to quality food at an affordable price.”
The Buehler’s Fresh Foods launch builds on Flashfood’s growing impact in Northeast Ohio. In 2026 alone, Flashfood shoppers in the region have saved $2.4 million on their groceries and diverted more than 1 million pounds of food from landfill. The launch reflects growing demand from shoppers looking for affordable ways to access fresh food and from grocery retailers seeking new ways to reduce food waste while creating value for their customers.
