SALISBURY, N.C. — Food Lion Feeds, in partnership with Food Lion's customers, delivered the equivalent of more than 29 million meals to families in need—a fourfold increase from its previous 2021 record of 6.6 million meals. This achievement underscores the community’s generosity and Food Lion’s dedication to tackling food insecurity across its 10-state service area.

The milestone was achieved through the “Holidays Without Hunger” campaign, which ran from November 6 to December 10. Customers contributed by purchasing prepacked $6 food boxes or donating at checkout. 100% of proceeds benefitted Feeding America® and its network of local food banks and partner agencies.

“We are deeply grateful for our customers’ selflessness during a time when they are setting their own tables,” said Food Lion Feeds manager Kevin Durkee. “Their generosity ensures that neighbors in need can also enjoy a nutritious holiday meal.”

Since its inception in 2014, the campaign has provided over 73 million meals, reinforcing Food Lion’s broader commitment to addressing food insecurity. The grocer has donated more than 1.2 billion meals to date, and its goal is to reach 1.5 billion meals by 2025.

Feeding America CEO Claire Babineaux-Fontenot praised the initiative, calling it “emblematic of the power of community and partnership.” She added, “Food Lion’s dedication ensures that families can share in the joy of a full holiday table.”

Food Lion’s commitment to fighting hunger goes beyond seasonal campaigns, including product donations, disaster relief, and volunteer hours from its associates. For more information on Food Lion Feeds, visit www.foodlion.com/feeds.
