SALISBURY, N.C. — Food Lion will mark Veteran's Day on November 11 by offering a 10% discount to all U.S. active-duty military personnel, veterans, and their families at its 1,109 locations across 10 states. The gesture aims to show appreciation for those who serve or have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, National Guard, or Reserve.

“Food Lion is committed to supporting our active and former military, who are an important part of the towns and cities we serve,” Food Lion president Meg Ham said. “With gratitude and respect for their selfless service, we are proud to welcome them to our stores and offer additional savings as a gesture of our appreciation and to help nourish them and their families.”

To take advantage of the discount, customers must present a military ID and their MVP card at checkout. This offer applies exclusively to in-store purchases and is not available through Food Lion To Go Pickup or Home Delivery services.

This Veterans Day discount is just one way Food Lion shows its commitment to military personnel. The company’s Veterans & Military Business Resource Group, made up of associates, supports veterans with professional development and community outreach programs. Additionally, Food Lion has partnered with veterans’ organizations like Purple Heart Homes and Wreaths Across America to further engage and support the military community.

Through its hunger relief program, Food Lion Feeds, the grocer has contributed $700,000 since 2019 to Operation Homefront, a nonprofit that aids military families with essential resources such as food, housing assistance, and ongoing family support. Now in its sixth year of partnership, Food Lion Feeds continues to focus on addressing food insecurity in the communities it serves. Founded in 2014, the platform reflects Food Lion’s commitment to nourishing neighbors in need, including those who have served the nation.
