SALISBURY, N.C. — Food Lion is set to deepen its nearly 50-year relationship with Troutman, N.C., by opening a new supermarket in the community.

The new store, located at 155 Crosstie Lane, will open on January 29 and promises an enhanced shopping experience with expanded offerings, customer-focused convenience, and sustainable initiatives.

The grand opening will kick off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 7:45 a.m., followed by special promotions. The first 100 customers in line will receive mystery gift cards worth up to $200 and a free reusable shopping bag. The store will operate daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

“We’re thrilled to bring an expanded assortment of fresh, quality products to our neighbors,” said Eric Bell, the store’s manager. “As someone who’s served Iredell County for nearly 25 years, I’m excited to provide a convenient and affordable place where families can shop for their needs.”

Enhanced Shopping Features

The new Food Lion store has been designed with a focus on convenience and variety. It offers a broad selection of ready-to-eat, ready-to-cook, and ready-to-heat meal solutions, fresh produce, high-quality meats, and organic, gluten-free, and plant-based products. The store also showcases Food Lion’s Nature’s Promise line of wholesome and organic products, free of artificial flavors, preservatives, and synthetic colors.

Unique features include a walk-in garden cooler for the freshest produce, in-store prepared cut fruit, freshly made sushi, and a self-service wing and hot favorites bar. The store also highlights regional products through Food Lion’s Local Goodness program, offering items sourced from North Carolina-based growers and manufacturers.

The store provides Food Lion To Go services for added convenience, enabling customers to order groceries online for pickup or home delivery. The location also includes self-checkout lanes, giving shoppers the flexibility to choose their preferred checkout experience.

Commitment to Sustainability

In alignment with its environmental goals, the Troutman store incorporates energy-efficient LED lighting and refrigerated cases with doors to reduce energy consumption. Food Lion’s commitment to sustainability has earned the company the ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Award for 23 consecutive years—the only grocery retailer in the U.S. to achieve this distinction.

Supporting the Community

As part of its grand opening, Food Lion donated $2,500 to FeedNC in Mooresville, equivalent to 25,000 meals, through its Food Lion Feeds initiative. FeedNC will also regularly collect food rescue donations from the store to distribute to residents in need, reducing food waste while addressing hunger in the community.

Since launching Food Lion Feeds in 2014, the retailer has provided over 1.2 billion meals to families and individuals and remains on track to achieve its goal of donating 1.5 billion meals by 2025.

The new Troutman location underscores Food Lion’s mission to nourish the communities it serves by offering easy, fresh, and affordable shopping experiences while actively supporting sustainability and hunger relief efforts. For more details, customers can visit foodlion.com.
