GIANT and MARTIN’S refresh hot bars to offer lower prices and more choices

As families return to routines, company reduces hot bar prices by 10% and adds new menu items, keeping mealtimes fresh, convenient and affordable

CARLISLE, Pa. – Just in time for back-to-school and the return of busy family schedules, The GIANT Company, known locally as GIANT and MARTIN’S, announced today it is dropping in-store hot bar prices by 10% and introducing several new menu options. The price of hot bar items will decrease from $9.99 per pound to $8.99 per pound, while new offerings including Korean BBQ chicken, cilantro lime rice, creamed corn with bacon and mashed sweet potatoes will provide customers with even more fresh and flavorful meal options to choose from.

“Our customers are looking for meal solutions that deliver convenience, variety and value, especially as families settle back into busy school and activity schedules,” said Rebecca Lupfer, chief merchant, The GIANT Company. “From comfort foods to globally inspired dishes and an assortment of sides to round out any meal, we’re providing even more fresh, flavorful options at a lower price and making mealtime easier for busy families.”

Hot bars are currently offered at 188 GIANT and MARTIN’S stores and operate from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. for lunch and 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. for dinner.

Prepared fresh each day, the selection of hot bar items varies by store and includes offerings like hand-breaded fried chicken available daily, mac and cheese, BBQ chicken, meatloaf, General Tso chicken, sesame orange chicken, pepper steak, vegetable fried rice, lasagna, penne pasta, and more. Also select stores will feature hot smoked items at the hot bar.

An October 2025 report from FMI – The Food Industry Association highlighted a shift in customer dining habits with 28% of customers choosing deli-prepared foods in place of restaurant meals and 53% opting for a hybrid meal approach, combining deli-prepared options with items from their own refrigerators and pantries.

In addition to the hot bar, GIANT and MARTIN’S customers can also find a selection of fresh grab & go options available, including soup bars, prepared entrees, sandwiches, salads, and sushi. Offerings vary by store.
