GIANT announces plans for new Ephrata store

The approximately 39,000 square foot store is part of a redeveloped shopping center located at the intersection of W. Main Street/Route 322 and Hackman Road

 CARLISLE, Pa.  – The GIANT Company, known locally as GIANT and MARTIN’S, today announced plans for a new store in Ephrata, Pa. The approximately 39,000 square foot store is part of a redeveloped shopping center located at the intersection of W. Main Street/Route 322 and Hackman Road.  

“We have a long history of serving Lancaster County and GIANT remains committed to continued investment in our stores, in our local communities, and in the freshness and value that customers expect when shopping with us,” said John Ruane, president, The GIANT Company. “This second Ephrata store will provide greater convenience for our customers living and working in the northwest portion of the borough, coupled with the latest amenities and service delivered with kindness they have come to expect from GIANT.”   

Construction will begin after obtaining the necessary permits and approvals. Specific store amenities and employment opportunities, as well as an opening date, will be shared at a later date.  

Currently, GIANT operates 12 stores and employs more than 2,100 team members in Lancaster County.  

In February, the company announced it entered into a purchase agreement to acquire Everett Foodliner and Saxton Market, two grocery stores located in Bedford County, Pennsylvania. Last year, GIANT announced plans for new stores in Glen Mills and Parkesburg, also in Pennsylvania.
