PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — The GIANT Company has unveiled plans for a new 50,000-square-foot grocery store at the Andorra Shopping Center in north Philadelphia. Set to breathe new life into a previously vacated space at 701 Cathedral Road, the development marks another major expansion in the city for the grocery chain, which has been steadily growing its footprint in the Philadelphia since 2011.

"We're thrilled to join the Andorra community," GIANT president John Ruane said. "This new store will bring top-notch amenities, quality products, and exceptional service to our new neighbors, all while offering great value."

Construction on the Andorra location is slated to begin in 2025, pending necessary permits and approvals. Further details, including specific services, employment opportunities, and the opening date, will be shared in the coming months.

GIANT already operates nine stores across Philadelphia County, employing over 1,000 workers. The Andorra store will be the latest addition to its growing portfolio, following a store at South Broad and Washington that is set to open later this year.
