Giant names e-commerce head to VP of marketing

Dorazio will focus on further enhancing the Giant Food brand

LANDOVER, Md.— Giant Food, the leading greater Washington, D.C. regional grocery chain, today announced the appointment of Gregg Dorazio as vice president of marketing, As vice president of marketing, Dorazio will focus on further enhancing the Giant Food brand, strengthening customer connections across channels, aligning marketing strategies with merchandising and operations, and supporting the company’s continued growth priorities.

Dorazio has been a member of Giant Food’s leadership team since 2019, most recently serving as strategy and eCommerce lead. During his tenure, he has played a key role in shaping the company’s strategic business plans, advancing priority growth initiatives, and overseeing Giant Food’s online pickup and delivery offerings.

Prior to joining Giant Food, Dorazio spent 14 years in brand marketing leadership roles with Ahold Delhaize and General Mills, leading initiatives across advertising, multicultural marketing, sponsorships, customer development, marketing operations, and shopper marketing. His extensive experience combines expertise in brand strategy, innovation, eCommerce, and customer growth.

Dorazio holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Northwestern University and an MBA from Indiana University. He serves on the board of directors for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Annapolis & Anne Arundel County and is the executive sponsor of Giant Food’s Corporate Council. Outside of work, he enjoys researching stocks, planning family vacations, working out, photography, and golf.

Dorazio succeeds Dyani Hanrahan, who will depart Giant Food at the end of July after nearly a decade with the company. Since joining Giant Food in 2017, Hanrahan has played an instrumental role in modernizing the company’s marketing capabilities, strengthening its brand presence, and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
