GIANT reimagining shopping experience in Souderton, Pa.

Remodel will bring enhanced assortments, more meal solutions and improvements across fresh, center store and pharmacy.

CARLISLE, Pa. — The GIANT Company has begun a major renovation of its Souderton, Pa., supermarket, with upgrades planned across fresh foods, center store, prepared foods and pharmacy.

The store, located at 760 Pennsylvania 113, will remain open throughout the renovation, which is expected to be completed in early 2027.

The project is designed to modernize the 26-year-old location while expanding product variety and making the store easier and more convenient to shop.

“While this remodel will give current departments a needed facelift, the overall goal of the project is to enhance the shopping experience for our customers,” said Johnathan Heron, Souderton GIANT store manager. “Once the remodel is completed, customers will find more product variety and meal solutions coupled with GIANT’s commitment to value and freshness.”

GIANT said the store’s produce, bakery, meat and seafood departments will be updated as part of the project, along with its center store aisles and beer and wine areas. The changes will include improvements intended to make shopping more efficient as well as enhanced product assortments.

The retailer is also putting an emphasis on convenience and meal solutions. The deli and prepared foods department will undergo an overhaul that will increase the selection of Grab ‘n Go products aimed at customers looking for quick meal options.

Pharmacy customers will see changes as well. The remodeled store will include a new consultation room designed to provide greater privacy when pharmacists administer immunizations.

The Souderton GIANT opened in 2000 and employs approximately 235 team members. The supermarket is open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

During construction, GIANT is encouraging customers seeking an alternative to shopping inside the store to use its GIANT Direct service, which allows shoppers to place grocery orders online for curbside pickup.

The renovation is part of The GIANT Company’s ongoing efforts to update its store base and adapt its locations to changing shopper expectations, particularly growing demand for convenience, fresh foods and ready-to-eat meal solutions.
