Goody gives jewelry look to elastic accessory

ATLANTA — Goody has introduced DoubleWear, a collection of multitasking, jewelry-inspired elastics and headwraps.

Goody has introduced DoubleWear, a collection of multitasking, jewelry-inspired elastics and headwraps.

The Newell Rubbermaid hair accessory brand said Thursday that DoubleWear provides a solution to a frequent style and fashion issue.

A recent Goody survey found that most women wear an elastic on their wrist as an easy way to keep it handy, but 68% were frustrated with how that look compromised their style.

DoubleWear is a basic black ponytail elastic with either a gold or a silver overlay in multiple shapes/textures. Resembling a bangle-type bracelet or eye-catching necklace, the product allows for "a seamless, chic transition from hair accessory to jewelry," according to the company.

The line includes Goody DoubleWear 2in1 Elastics+Bracelets and Goody DoubleWear 2in1 Headwraps+Necklaces, all carrying a suggested retail price of $5.99. The collection is on shelves now at CVS, Walgreens, Walmart and Target stores.

The company added that, of the consumers polled in its survey, 75% favored DoubleWear for doubling style and ease without sacrificing their look, and 91% reported that the elastics are unique and different.
