CHICAGO—Grubhub's annual Delivered Report reveals that 2024 was the year of "Doing the Most," as Americans indulged in bold ordering choices at restaurants, grocery stores, and convenience shops.

Chicken ruled supreme, featured in nearly 40% of Grubhub restaurant orders and dominating grocery carts at three times the rate of beef. Social media also fueled a cottage cheese renaissance, with Grubhub delivering over two thousand pounds of the protein-packed dairy staple.

Espresso orders surged, with demand peaking the week of June 22, coinciding with a hit song celebrating the iconic brew. Customers explored nearly 15,000 latte variations, proving coffee culture remains as dynamic as ever.

Pickles enjoyed a 14% rise in popularity, transforming from sandwich sidekick to star ingredient. Americans couldn't get enough of the tangy treat, now used in everything from pickle-juice sodas to creative snacks.

Convenience stores became go-to spots for 24/7 cravings, with hot dogs, bananas, and sodas topping orders. Dr Pepper claimed the title of the most-ordered soda, often paired with pickles for a viral flavor twist.

Return-to-office trends drove a 53% increase in corporate coffee orders, while Chipotle burrito bowls reigned as the ultimate office lunch, with orders rising 27%.

Travelers indulged in hotel room deliveries, with 60% of orders placed at dinnertime. Virginia Beach, Chicago, and New York City were the top cities for hotel alcohol delivery.

The "swicy" trend — sweet and spicy flavors — captivated diners. Hot honey orders jumped 30%, adding a fiery-sweet kick to everything from fried chicken to fries.

Americans embraced home entertaining by ordering over 1.6 million family meals from popular restaurants, choosing social time over meal prep.
