FRAMINGHAM, Mass. — Gulf Oil will celebrate its 125th anniversary this year, highlighting a milestone that emphasizes the brand’s importance in the development of the U.S. energy and fuels sector, from its beginnings at Spindletop in Beaumont, Texas, to its current retail and wholesale operations.

The company announced that the anniversary will be celebrated throughout the year through customer-oriented events, regional meetings, and road shows, alongside national marketing campaigns that emphasize Gulf’s legacy and ongoing relevance. A new set of commemorative logos will serve as the centerpiece, appearing across marketing materials, internal and industry communications, and at scheduled events.

“From the earliest days of commercial oil production to the rise of the automobile and the development of branded retail stations, Gulf has been a catalyst for progress,” said Ron Sabia, chief operating officer. “Throughout every era, Gulf has been powered by strong partnerships with distributors and dealers who built their businesses with confidence in the brand.”
As part of the celebration, Gulf is also collaborating with licensed merchandise partners to create exclusive 125th-anniversary items for both customers and consumers, broadening the brand beyond the gas station. The regional road shows will highlight ongoing investments in marketing, fuels, digital capabilities, and payment solutions.
Gulf executives highlighted that the anniversary is equally about the future and the past, citing renewed momentum in wholesale growth, brand visibility, and retailer support.
