H-E-B unveils plans for two projects in Garland

The roughly seven‑acre property will become home to North Texas’ fourth Joe V’s Smart Shop—H‑E‑B’s innovative, price‑focused format offering fresh, high‑quality products at low prices

AUSTIN — H‑E‑B has announced plans for two new developments in the City of Garland, Texas.

The first project will bring new life to a vacant shopping center at the northeast corner of Centerville Road and LBJ Freeway. The roughly seven‑acre property will become home to North Texas’ fourth Joe V’s Smart Shop—H‑E‑B’s innovative, price‑focused format offering fresh, high‑quality products at low prices. Construction is slated to begin in the coming months. Joe V’s Smart Shop, part of the H‑E‑B family of brands, currently operates 14 stores across North Texas and Houston.

The second project involves H‑E‑B’s plans to develop a full H‑E‑B store on a 21‑acre site between Crist Road and Firewheel Parkway near the President George Bush Turnpike. The purchase of this property is still pending.

Additional details will be shared as both projects progress.

As a multiformat retailer, H‑E‑B operates Joe V’s Smart Shop, Central Market, and Mi Tienda stores, along with Favor Delivery, the company’s on‑demand delivery service available in hundreds of communities statewide.
